A questionnaire study with 401 grade 8 and 9 students from academic-track secondary schools in Germany examined the hypotheses that the more students experience their teachers’ behavior toward them personally to be just, the better their individual experience of class climate, and that the belief in a just world (BJW) is positively related to both student experiences. Class climate was assessed in terms of two second-order dimensions: classroom climate (e.g., willingness to learn) and student climate (e.g., community). Multilevel analyses revealed that the more the students evaluated their teachers’ behavior toward them personally to be just, the more positively they evaluated the classroom and student climate. Moreover, students with a strong BJW tended to evaluate their teachers’ behavior toward them personally to be more just and the climate of their class to be more positive. Furthermore, the experience of teacher justice partly mediated the BJW’s effect on the climate evaluations. Thus, a strong BJW seems to function as a personal resource for students, explaining significant parts of their individual experience of both teacher justice and class climate at school. Most importantly, individually experienced teacher justice seems to be a significant factor when it comes to understanding class climate. Implications are discussed. 相似文献

Over the past decade in Australia, a neo‐liberal political climate has delivered to universities and schools increasing expectations concerning accountability and conformity within professional standards frameworks. This has contributed to growing pressure around Professional Experience programs within teacher education. In light of such accountability agendas, this paper analyses impacts arising from the emergence of institutions such as the New South Wales Institute of Teachers. In response to an insistent discourse of ‘partnerships’, it draws on the work of Lave and Wegner (1991), as well as Engeström (1999), to pose a reconceptualised model of Professional Experience based on the concept of Activity Systems. An approach to partnerships that structures Professional Experience in schools around the notion of ‘communities of learning’ is presented. By shifting power relations and roles around Professional Experience, it is claimed a co‐learning environment that more effectively and concurrently attends to the professional learning needs of student teachers, as well as those of practising teachers, can be developed. 相似文献

The notion of equivalence relation is arguably one of the most fundamental ideas of mathematics. Accordingly, it plays an
important role in teaching mathematics at all levels, whether explicitly or implicitly. Our success in introducing this notion
for its own sake or as a means to teach other mathematical concepts, however, depends largely on our own conceptions of it.
This paper considers various conceptions of equivalence, in history, in mathematics today, and in mathematics education. It
reveals critical differences in the notion of equivalence at different points in history and a meaning for equivalence proposed
by mathematicians and mathematics educators that is at variance with the ways that learners may think. These differences call
into question the most popular view of the subject: that the mathematical notion of equivalence relation is the result of
spelling out our experience of equivalence. Moreover, the findings of this study suggest that the standard definition of an
equivalence relation is ill-chosen from a pedagogical point of view but well-crafted from a mathematical point of view. 相似文献

A detailed survey of 498 high technology small and medium-sized enterprises in the Netherlands shows process innovation by user firms to be common practice. Fifty-four percent of these firms reported developing entirely novel process equipment or software for their own use and/or modifying these, both at significant private expense. Twenty-five percent of the user innovations in our sample were transferred to commercializing producer firms. Many transfers were made without any direct compensation. Very importantly from the perspective of effective diffusion of user innovations, innovations with higher commercial potential - and more general appeal for users - are much more likely to be transferred to producers. The pattern we document of frequent innovation by individual user firms at substantial cost, followed in many cases by voluntary, no-charge information spillovers to producers, suggests that “open source economics” may be a general pattern in the economy. 相似文献
